Design (Me)
In my first few years with EnergyBot, I was focused primarily on objectives with the highest ROI.
This mainly involved iterating on our conversational flow and building out site content to boost our SEO ranking.
Slowing down our development speed to refine design was difficult to get buy-in for from upper management.
But as the company and our product features grew, the need for a refined system became impossible to ignore.
Scalability
Maintainability
Improved Product Reception
Faster development speed
Shared Ownership
100+ unique components
1,200+ unique classes
3 variations per class
With over 3,600 styles defined throughout our site across each breakpoint, we really had our work cut out for us.
With so many UI elements to account for, we knew it would be too overwhelming to try and sort/refine our existing styles.
So in the interest of conserving time and resources, we decided it would be best to design a new system from scratch and incrementally shift our UI to that new standard upon completion.
Part of the reason for this is we had been discussing developing a unified app-like experience for our product in recent months.
After further discussion, we decided to develop this new design system alongside our new product experience.
These were all completed with EnergyBot.
